About Hill Yang
Hill Yang is a Gold Coast–based ESSA Accredited Exercise Scientist (AES #17005) and Remedial Massage Therapist whose experience spans more than 20 years and 25,000+ hands-on sessions. His training began in Taiwan, where nine years of traditional Chinese massage built a meridian-based way of reading the body. He later completed a Bachelor of Exercise Science at Griffith University, bringing that foundation together with Western movement science.
That combination shaped Dynamic Myofascial Release (DMFR), the method Hill developed in 2015. Rather than working only while a client lies still, DMFR applies hands-on myofascial work during active movement, supported by guided breathing and real-time feedback. More than 17,000 DMFR sessions later, it remains at the centre of how he works.
Hill’s sports experience includes contracted sports massage roles with the Gold Coast Titans and Burleigh Bears, and the polyclinic medical team at the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games. In Alice Springs, he spent six years working alongside GPs, specialists and allied health teams who referred clients to his practice.
Today he pairs hands-on assessment with objective tools such as VALD ForceDecks, VALD HumanTrak and AxIT strength testing. He consults in English and Mandarin and works collaboratively with GPs, physiotherapists and other health professionals, with the aim of helping each person understand their own body well enough to stay independent.
The Clinical Evolution
Gold Coast Practice
Relocated to the Gold Coast and established a clinical base in Varsity Lakes. Using VALD ForceDecks and AxIT testing to add objective measurement to hands-on care, including for athletes aspiring toward LA28 and Brisbane 2032.
Alice Springs Practice
From November 2019 to November 2025, delivered 11,832 sessions and built a referral network with hospital and private medical teams across Central Australia.
Development of DMFR
Developed Dynamic Myofascial Release (DMFR). Contracted sports massage roles with the Gold Coast Titans (NRL) and Burleigh Bears (QRL), and the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games medical team. Completed a Bachelor of Exercise Science at Griffith University.
International Practice
Practised across Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia and all eight Australian states and territories, blending Eastern therapeutic traditions with Western clinical reasoning.
Traditional Roots: Chinese Massage
Began hands-on practice in Taiwan with intensive training in traditional Chinese massage, building the meridian-based reasoning and structural awareness that still inform his work today.
